Any tips on lowering my property tax on 2nd home in the Houston suburbs?

I noticed investors pay higher taxes than residents. Is there any loop holes to pay lower taxes for non-residents?

Home assessment for property tax does not take investors into consideration. This year my property was valued for the next 2 years. I ran some numbers and appealed to have the assessed value lowered. Not much else can be done. There are so called ‘property tax consultants’ and I think the only advantage is they may know how to word the paper work for the appeal. I was able to do mine right on line with my county clerk.
